3Y, BOUVET ISLAND (AN-002). Operator Petrus, ZS6GCM, is expected to be
active as 3Y/ZS6GCM from Bouvet Island, probably for the next three
months. He is with a five member team on the island and is their medic.
The operator does have a vertical antenna for 40/20/15/10 meters but
no amplifier. He is also a newly licensed amateur and has no experience
in pile-ups. So, please go easy on him. Activity will be during his
spare time only.

CE - CHILE
Al,CE1/K7CA, was very active, especially on the lowbands, last year. He produced very good signals in Europe even on 160m. Al announced to be active again from the end of December until Feb 2008 and hopefully he continues his efforts on the lowbands as well.

Pete,SM5GMZ, is going on another business trip through Southeast Asia in the beginning of January. He is working as a photo journalist and he will be underway until April 2008. He writes that he will try to become active as much as possible during his spare time. In January he will stay in Thailand from where he will work as HS0ZFI in all modes on all bands but Pete prefers working on the WARC and low bands. By the end of January and during February he will show up as XU7ADI from Cambodia. During March he will sign 9M6/SM5GMZ from East Malaysia and 9M8Z in the WPX Contest.

Ludwig,ZS6WLC, is using callsign ZS7BYRD from the Antarctic base SANAE IV (Vesleskarvet) during January and February. He can be found working in SSB on 14180 kHz and in AM (!) on 14280 kHz. John,KX7YT, will arrive in the Bengali capital Dhaka on Jan 24 and intends to stay there for six weeks. He will hit the bands as S21YV as soon as his equipment consisting of a TS-480SAT, Force 12 tribander and wire antennas is ready. John is working in SSB/PSK31/RTTY mainly on 15m/20m/40m and sometimes also on 80m. He also plans to take part in the upcoming CQ WPX RTTY Contest (Feb 9/10).
